Founder of LifeHoops, CEO/Co-Founder of Red Ventures
Ric Elias is the founder of LifeHoops. Ric co-founded Red Ventures in 2000 with Dan Feldstein. Ric’s leadership style earned him noteworthy recognition in 2011, when he was named an Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year. His inspirational views on both business and family have been featured on CNN, TED Talks and MSNBC. Beyond Red Ventures, Ric has a passion for giving back to the community and basketball.
Program Director, Charlotte Hornets Community Ambassador
Matt Carroll is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After an accomplished basketball career at the University of Notre Dame and 10 seasons in the NBA, Matt tired from professional basketball in 2013. Matt is the Community Ambassador for the Charlotte Hornets and also serves as the team’s Radio Color Analyst. Matt serves as a Hornets ambassador for the organization at events related to both basketball and business operations and helps inform the community about organizational initiatives. Matt enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports teams, and golfing. He is the Director of LifeHoops and oversees the strategic vision and administration of the program.
Vice President at YMCA of Greater Charlotte
Steve Bowers is a native of Los Angeles, California who spent most of his childhood in Tampa, Florida. He attended college at the University of Tampa and worked at the YMCA while paying his way through college. Along the way, Steve coached basketball for AAU and the YMCA. During his career at the Y, Steve created and implemented countless teen leadership initiatives and launched eight new YMCA facilities. Currently, Steve serves as the Senior Vice President of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his two children, playing hoops, and traveling. He currently provides operational guidance for LifeHoops and is the liaison between the program and the YMCA.
Operations, Red Ventures Director
Jason Streeter is a native of the Bronx, NY. He attended college at Claflin University where he played basketball then relocated to Charlotte, NC to begin his professional career. Jason has worked for the past 11 years for Red Ventures managing their outside sales teams and now leads one of their Telco partnerships. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, traveling, going to sporting events and working out. He currently manages the day to day operations for LifeHoops alongside Zain Motani.
Operations, Red Ventures Director
Zain Motani is a native of Dallas, Texas. He attended Duke University in Durham where he studied Economics and Psychology. For the last 5 years, Zain has worked at Red Ventures on many different partnerships in the marketing, sales operations, and technology groups. When he’s not working,Zain loves writing, experimenting with cooking new dishes, and playing basketball. He currently manages the day to day operations for LifeHoops alongside Jason Streeter.
Nick is a native of Charlotte, NC. He attended college at Anderson University in SC where he played basketball before returning home to Charlotte, NC. Nick has worked for a variety of organizations during his career that all have a focused-on youth through sports and athletic development. When he is not working Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, taking on fitness challenges and playing basketball. He currently works directly with our leadership team to run day to day operations as well as develop the growth of Life Hoops program.
