LifeHoops: Summertime Edition
CHARLOTTE – LifeHoops stayed busy all summer long with a mix of fun, athletics, and community service. The boys enjoyed their time at 2 pro-camps – the Kemba Walker/Jeremy Lamb and Michael Kidd Gilchrist camps – learning new basketball skills and meeting other camp participants. We participated in three tournaments over the summer. And also integrated yoga, indoor capture the flag, agility exercises, and swimming to stay fit.
LifeHoops is more than basketball, it’s also about LifeSkills. The boys had great lessons on conflict resolution and creative thinking led by Paul Marks (video here!). And got to give back to the community. We went to the Anne Springs Greenway to pick weeds and paint a shed. Served food at Hope Haven, a facility for recovering adults. And helped out at Albemarle Road, moving desks and tables to set up for the school year.
And what would summer be without FUN? LifeHoops went to Camp Canaan for a ropes course and bubble soccer. Visited the Red Ventures campus for bowling and basketball. And topped off the summer by going to Carowinds (photos!)
